Arteriovenous Malformations

What is Arteriovenous Malformations
Arteriovenous malformation has been established to be an abnormality which occurs to the arteries and veins in the body. In cases of Arteriovenous malformations, several degrees of connection errors between the veins and arteries are reported. The condition, AVM for short is reported to be capable of being developed anywhere in the body so long as it contains a network of veins or arteries. However, Arteriovenous Malformations is most commonly associated with some key places in the body including the brain or spine. Most people who exhibit cases or brain or spinal cord Arteriovenous malformations have been reported to experience a few, if any, significant symptoms presented by the medical state.

Symptoms of Arteriovenous Malformations
As established, Arteriovenous malformations is caused when the veins and arteries express abnormalities in their connection. Most persons with this medical condition however have reported little to no symptoms. Most common symptoms associated with this condition however include headache, seizures and possible weakness or numbness especially in persons exhibiting brain or spinal cord Arteriovenous malformations.

Causes of Arteriovenous Malformations
Medical research into the causes of Arteriovenous malformations has indicated that the brain Arteriovenous malformations may have been caused in affected humans during their pre-natal stage, in essence, during fetal development. However, some scientists have revealed that the cause of the medical condition which presents a misconnection between the veins and arteries isn’t clear.

Risk factors of Arteriovenous Malformations
Having established that the possible cause of this medical condition is not clear, scientists have reported that Arteriovenous malformations are more common in males and may be congenital which means it might be associated with a family history of such cases.

Complications of Arteriovenous Malformations
Arteriovenous malformations have been reported to present a few, if any, symptoms in persons suffering from this medical condition, however, having established the medical state to be accompanied with some symptoms which include headache, possible weakness and fatigue, seizures and numbness, the medical condition has been reported to present some complications in some affected persons, the complication may however be mild or severe depending on the lifestyle, age, and genetic factors in the patient. Some of the most common complications presented by the medical state include; bleeding or hemorrhaging in the brain, thinness or weakened blood vessels, reduced oxygen flow to the brain in cases of brain Arteriovenous malformations and also, there is a possibility of brain damage.

Diagnosis of Arteriovenous Malformations
Arteriovenous malformations present some characteristic symptoms, however, most of the symptoms presented by the medical condition are similar to other forms of mild medical conditions. For proper diagnosis of this medical condition, certain tests are conducted to establish the severity of the medical condition. Recommended tests include; Cerebral arteriography, CT scan of the brain, and Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan.

Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations
Arteriovenous malformations may be treated using a wide range of treatment procedures upon diagnosis by a qualified medical institute and medical practitioners. However, it has been established that most of the treatment procedures to be employed in the treatment of Arteriovenous malformations may be adopted individually or collectively in a bid to rehabilitate the affected persons and prevent possible complications which in severe cases may lead to shortage of oxygen to the brain and subsequently brain damage. Some treatment procedures to employ in battling Arteriovenous malformations include; Homeopathic Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations, Acupuncture and Acupressure Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations; Psychotherapy Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations; Conventional or Allopathic Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations; Surgical Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations; Dietary and Herbal Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations; and Other Treatment methods for Arteriovenous Malformations.

Homeopathic Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformation
Homeopathic treatment of Arteriovenous malformations has been revealed to provide rehabilitation for the affected patients although it does not present a cure to the medical condition. In this treatment procedure, the aim is to support the patient’s health to avoid further degeneration of the body. Also, treatment in this case is constitutional which means there is an all-round health care package for affected persons which focuses on the individual rehabilitation as well as the pathological condition. Homeopathic treatment also focuses on balancing the energy system within the affected person and boosting the immune system along with body functions. Also, some of the remedies employed in homeopathic treatment of Arteriovenous malformations include: Conv, Crat, Lycop V, Carb V, and Digitalis.

Conventional or Allopathic Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations
In Allopathic treatment of Arteriovenous malformations, treatment procedure is aimed at prescription of medications which seeks to treat some related and painful symptoms presented by the medical condition. Medicines administered in allopathic treatment of Arteriovenous malformations include pain relieves for headaches and medicines to limit or stop seizures. In addition, a process called Endovascular embolization is also conducted on the patient before proceeding to the surgical correction of the medical condition. This is done in a bid to limit the chances of the patient bleeding out during the surgical procedure. However, during the procedure a catheter is inserted into a leg artery and then threaded through the body leading to the brain arteries. Once this stage is successfully conducted, small particles of a glue-like substance are then injected into it to block the vessel and reduce blood flow into the parts affected by Arteriovenous malformations.

Surgical Treatment of Arteriovenous Malformations
The surgical treatment of Arteriovenous malformations is most often than not discouraged as the first line of action, but in cases where competent medical practitioners are listed on board, the surgical procedure will involve the threading of a catheter into the body. The catheter is inserted through one of the veins in the leg and then threaded through the body leading to the brain, once this procedure is successfully achieved, a small glue-like substance is then injected into the vein with the aim to stop possible bleeding in the areas of arteries and veins affected by Arteriovenous malformations.
It is important to note however that a process called endovascular embolization should be conducted before the surgical procedure in order to ascertain the complexity of the Arteriovenous malformations.
